Alpha-Link21000-AM can transfer data between a Modbus TCP/IP Client and an ASCII device or system. You can easily to move serial ASCII data to a Modbus TCP/IP controller.
It allows you to interrupt the ASCII data strings into meaningful data types for use in your controller.
Up to 1024 ASCII characters can be parsed into up to 50 segments. Each segment can be assigned a data type and then mapped to a user defined register or coil locations. Up to 50 segments of data on Modbus can be concatenated together and delivered as string to your TCP/IP device.

Gateway Configuration options:
Modbus RTU Master to Modbus TCP/IP Client: Gateway presents shared block of Modbus addresses (registers and coils). Protocols exchange data by reading/writing data to and from the shared block of data.
The router becomes a shared block of Modbus registers and coils. Either protocol is able to read or write values to and from the shared block of data.
Modbus RTU Slaves to Modbus TCP/IP Client: Transparent routing requests sent to Modbus TCP node ID to Modbus RTU network for nod with ID matching substitute table (or the same ID as a particular case)
Modbus RTU slaves are presented as Modbus TCP/IP servers. Requests sent to a Modbus TCP/IP node ID will be routed to the matching slave ID on the Modbus RTU network.
Modbus TCP/IP Servers to Modbus RTU Master:
Transparent routing of Modbus RTU packets to mapped Modbus TCP IP addresses and unit ID’s.
